The Malta Democratic Party believes in open government and community engagement

Open government means the community is well informed on the actions of the government before, during, and after actions are taken, and that there is public knowledge and awareness and resident participation in each step along the way.

Community engagement is the processes by which local government actively encourages and provides opportunities for the residents to participate in, and influence government decision making. Active engagement is more than posting notices on the Town website. It includes meetings in and with affected neighborhoods and residents about proposed plans or changes.
